Lawnya Vawnya 14 Announces Lineup

Lawnya Vawnya, the annual arts and music festival that occurs in St. John’s, Newfoundland, has unveiled its lineup for the 2024 installment, its 14th iteration. These year’s fest will take place across four days spanning from June 5th to June 8th. Among the heavier and loud artists performing this year are Bread Clip, Carnage, Cuerpos, Doberman, Needle Crafts, and Tunnel Vision.

Blockbuster Releases Debut Singles ‘Phone Calls / YouTube’

Blockbuster is a new slowcore / alternative rock / shoegaze / grunge band from Liam, Kyle, and Jacob Cherwick, a trio of musicians whose musical output is unceasing and ever-growing. The band released their first recordings, a pair of singles, through Bandcamp on April 26th, 2024. The tracks in question are entitled “Phone Calls” and “YouTube”.

Liz Fagan Band Releases New EP ‘Leaning In / Se Pencher Vers’

St. John’s grunge / alternative rock group Liz Fagan Band have released their first full EP. This new release, entitled Leaning In / Se pencher vers, was released on March 22nd, 2024 through Bandcamp as well as streaming services, and features six tracks.

Liz Fagan Band consists of Liz Fagan on vocals and guitars, Chad Feehan on bass, James Benoit on drums, and Kendall Pittman on synths. The album photo and layout design was done by Krissy Breen, with the EP being mixed by James Benoit and mastered by Sarah Shin, along with band photos being provided by Tony Dawe. The songs “Fleurs fan​é​es” and “Azure” were co-authored by Caroline Fortune. Each song on the EP also features unique artwork which were created by Scotti, Emily Bishop, Darcy Sedgwick, Anatasia Tiller, and Shan Leigh Pomeroy.

Jaded Truth Release New Single “We’re Not Going to Talk About Judy”, Share EP Art and Release Date

St. John’s grunge trio Jaded Truth are gearing up for the release of their second proper EP, Sweet, the follow-up to 2023’s Bitter. The band have already released one single from the EP, entitled “Living a Dream”, and have now followed that up with this next track, “We’re Not Going to Talk About Judy”. The song, whose title is a reference to the David Lynch film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, was released on Friday, March 29th, 2024.

Sweet is set to be released on April 12th, 2024. You can listen to “We’re Not Going to Talk About Judy” through our YouTube embed below.
